Introduction to Assessments and Tools Workshops: This new training series is designed to introduce (or provide a refresher on) the most commonly used evidence based/evidence-informed assessments and tools used with families, youth, and children. Each session will cover a different assessment or tool, and is designed to equip practitioners with the knowledge and skills to effectively use evidence-based/evidence-informed assessments and tools in supporting positive outcomes for families, youth, and children.

Workshop Overview:

Workshop #1 - Using the Looksee Checklist: A Developmental Screening Tool For Early Childhood
This hands-on workshop is designed for Family Resource Network (FRN) staff and family support professionals who work closely with parents and caregivers of young children. Participants will be introduced to the Looksee Checklist, a developmental screening tool that helps families observe and understand their child’s growth from birth to six years.
Through interactive learning, discussion, and real-life scenarios, participants will explore how to use the Looksee Checklist in a family-friendly, culturally responsive, and strengths-based way. The workshop emphasizes building trusting relationships with caregivers and empowering them with knowledge about their child’s developmental milestones.

This workshop is ideal for anyone in the FRN network, and/or those who support families with young children (0-6), including home visitors, parent educators, family support workers, early childhood educators, maternal health practitioners etc.
