This Pathways to Practice Series is designed to build the capacity of Family Resource Network Hubs and Spokes, Home Visitors, and any professional who works with children and families. 

Workshop Overview:

  • Strengths-Based Practice

Strengths-Based Practice recognizes that all individuals have unique strengths and resources that can be harnessed for their empowerment. This session will deepen the understanding of what Strengths-Based Practice is and its importance when working with children and families.

  • Boundaries in Support Relationships

Boundaries in Support Relationships refers to the decisions that must be made to maintain professional relationships. This session will dive into different types of boundaries to consider and an opportunity to reflect on others that may be relevant to your own practice.

  • Trauma-Informed Care

Trauma-Informed Care aims to create a safe and empathetic space for children and families accessing services. This session focuses on understanding of the effects of trauma so participants can embed trauma-informed care into practice.

  • Relationship-Based Practice

This session is intended to increase the knowledge and understanding of what a Relationship Based Practice is, the benefits and challenges in creating a Relationship Based Practice and how to implement it in their work with children and families. 

  • Closing with Care

This session is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively transition and close family care files. Participants will learn how to navigate the sensitive process of file closure while ensuring families feel supported and empowered after they have accessed services.

Requirements for Participation:

For this interactive training, each attendee needs: a computer with a camera, microphone, and stable internet connection.

Certificate:

To receive a certificate of completion, you must attend all 5 sessions.

  • AHVNA Members: $25
  • Non Members: $50
