AHVNA is offering an open-enrollment workshop on the HOVRS (Home Visit Rating Scales) - Observational Indicators of Home Visit Quality, led by trainers Lori Roggman and Mark Innocenti. This series of five 2-hour webinars and serves as an extension of the Developmental Parenting and PICCOLO training. It is designed for both practitioners and supervisors.

What is HOVRS?

The Home Visit Rating Scales (HOVRS) measure the quality of home visits for families with infants, toddlers, and young children.

Why Use HOVRS?

HOVRS is a research-backed tool that predicts positive outcomes in parenting and child development. It helps programs delivering parenting support services through home visits to measure the quality of their visits effectively.

  • ZOOM link will be sent by the Trainers (not AHVNA) prior to each session

Requirements for Participation:

  • For this interactive training, each attendee needs: a computer with a camera, microphone, and a stable internet connection
  • A certificate will be awarded to those who complete all five sessions and completed of homework that required for the certificate

Post-Webinar Requirements

  • After the webinars, a 2-day reliability workshop is necessary to implement HOVRS. Your site will need at least two people to work together on scoring reliability, meeting agreement criteria across at least four observations. Facilitators will provide guidelines for this process during the 3rd webinar.

Cancelation Policy:

Registration costs are non-refundable.

We encourage you to send a substitute if you are unable to attend the workshop, as there is a NO SHOW charge for all absent registrants. Cancelations need to be made ONE WEEK prior to the scheduled workshop date.

Should a workshop not reach its minimum registration requirement, it will be canceled approximately ONE WEEK prior to the workshop commencement date. Registrants will be informed by email or telephone, and registration costs will be refunded.
